Sharing an Incredible Product
In recent posts we outlined key points related to Vivix, including the research behind it and its unique qualities. (By the way, you can access this material anytime on our blog: Vivix is obviously an advanced health product that is ground-breaking in terms of its technology and implications on human health. But, how do you effectively share this product? Here are some tips:
1. A Solution people are looking for. While Vivix itself is a new product, it represents something people are looking for. There is a strong desire to be as healthy as possible, and therefore to live longer and feel younger. Vivix addresses a real consumer desire.
2. Focus on the Science. With so many gimmicks and fads on the market it is easy to understand how some people might be a little skeptical at first. Certainly we must avoid making wild claims and promises, but there is considerable scientific research that we can share. In addition to an attractive brochure that is available, Shaklee also has an Anti-Aging Research Bulletin available for purchase or download that summarizes the latest science. 3. Don’t compare with “Fruit Drink” supplements. In recent years several companies have been hyping antioxidant fruit juice drinks. Sadly these over-priced juices are largely gimmicks, with little or no real scientific research behind them. Some people may want to place Vivix in the same category. This is not the case. On its own Vivix is a very powerful antioxidant (many times more potent than these fruit drinks) but this is not what Vivix is all about. Vivix is a cellular anti-aging supplement that addresses all four key mechanisms related to cellular aging, something these fruit drinks do not touch. A One-of-a-kind Product

In our last e-mail we highlighted the cutting-edge scientific research behind Shaklee’s newest product, Vivix. Unlike many natural health gimmicks on the market, Vivix is a product that is based on the latest advancements in human health, specifically as it relates to aging. Quite simply, there is nothing else available anywhere that even comes close to what Vivix is all about and can do.

Vivix is unique because it is the first commercially-available product that addresses the four key mechanism of cellular aging. Pharmaceutical companies are working on drugs that will address these issues, but in light of the lengthy approval process it will likely be 7-10 years before they are available for sale. Vivix is available now because it is an all natural product containing ingredients that have been clinically proven to thwart the aging process. In short, here are the main points related to the Shaklee Difference in Vivix:

1. Potent resveratrol. Resveratrol is the natural anti-oxidant found in red wine that is linked to cellular anti-aging. Scientific studies show that the real anti-aging effect goes well beyond the amount of resveratrol in a just a few glasses of wine. Shaklee has found the most potent form of resveratrol available – an extract that is 98% pure. The result is that one serving of Vivix provides the equivalent effect of 100 glasses of wine!

2. Emodin-free. One of the main drawbacks in high potency resveratrol products is that the extracts contain a natural compound called emodin. Emodin has a strong laxative effect, providing a challenge for people taking the supplement. Shaklee’s ultra-pure extract is completely emodin-free.

3. Beyond resveratrol. Despite the benefits, resveratrol supplements alone aren’t adequate as resveratrol itself only addresses 3 of the 4 aging mechanisms. Resveratrol is NOT that effective against the accumulation of AGE proteins in cells. For this reason Shaklee had to find a natural source of compounds that work in this way. Research shows that there are polyphenols found in a “super-grape” that have this effect. The Muscadine grape has an extra chromosome compared to other grapes, a fact which scientists believe is the reason this grape is so high in polyphenols, especially ellagic acid. This unique polyphenol combination, developed by Shaklee in conjunction with the University of Georgia, has been shown to be 10X more effective than resveratrol in combating AGE proteins!

4. Secured supply. Despite the amazing qualities of the Muscadine grape it is not commonly grown commercially. To ensure availability Shaklee went to the extreme step of buying the entire future supply of this super grape from the world’s largest and best suppliers!

5. Patents pending. To protect its investment in this product, Shaklee has filed a number of patent applications pertaining to Vivix. This includes its unique formula, and the Muscadine grape extraction process. The fact is, no one else will be able to duplicate Vivix!

6. High bioavailability. As is typical with Shaklee products, the goal is not just to put the ingredients in a bottle. They must be shown to work in the body. This has also been a challenge for everyone else up to this point since research shows that resveratrol is radically changed in the digestion process, resulting in little of the trans-resveratrol actually making it into the bloodstream. Shaklee has solved this problem in Vivix through the unique polyphenol blend and by making this a liquid supplement. Absorption of the liquid actually begins in the mouth and throat resulting in much more effective release into the bloodstream.

With so many health products on the market vying for your attention, it is important to check out the science behind Shaklee’s newest product, Vivix. Unlike the many health fads out there, Vivix is based on the latest, sound scientific research.

In the last few years scientists have made significant strides into understanding the reasons why we age. They have discovered that aging ultimately happens at the cellular level. Scientists around the world have been intrigued with the power of resveratrol and polyphenolic compounds that are found in certain plants. It appears that my original Saturday morning report never got posted and was lost in electronic limbo. Here’s a recap from Saturday morning:

This morning was the final general session of the convention, a positive wrap-up of all that’s been happening the last few days. There were a few important announcements, one of which was the introduction of Bradford Richardson, the new President of Shaklee International, a sharp, experienced businessman with tons of global experience. He told us that Shaklee China will finally open December 1st in Beijing, and he told of us of Shaklee’s strategy for future global expansion. Another highlight this morning was the celebration of Cinch success. Numerous people shared their successes, and Shaklee featured several of them with complete make-overs. It was exciting to see and hear of many who had lost over 50 pounds, and a number even over 100 pounds! As is typical of these conventions, Shaklee brings in world renowned speakers, and this year it was Nando Parrado, one of the survivors of the well-known Andes plane crash of 1972. An amazing story of determination and leadership.

The 2008 Shaklee Global Conference is now over, and it’s time to head back home.

Without question this was a pivotal point in the company’s history, and I am glad that I could be part of the experience, and that four of our downline could be as well!

I cannot overstate the importance of these events for serious business builders. Sure, you can hear the “news” after the fact, but it is not the same as actually being there. The convention provides not only comprehensive information, but it allows one to experience the excitement that is rippling through this growing company. I think Vivix is a great example: Hearing about it second-hand doesn’t do justice to the signficance of what we learned and experienced first-hand in New Orleans.

Vivix does mark what probably is the greatest technical achievement in Shakle’s history. Shaklee’s research and development here demonstrates the power of this company. No other nutritional company could even come close to doing what Shaklee has done. They don’t have the money, the scientists, or the corporate culture to make it happen. Shaklee’s accomplishment here puts us in the same league as hi-tech leaders in other industries such as in computers, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Over the next few weeks and months Shaklee and ourselves will be doing all we can to help you understand the significance of Vivix and what it means to human health and to your business. This is a cutting-edge product that taps into real science that addresses one of the great biological challenges of all time: cellular aging. The association with Dr. David Sinclair of Harvard Medical School (the recognized world expert on aging) reinforces the acceptance that Vivix is an accomplishment that others could only dream about. Vivix is NOT just another nutritional product, and the biggest challenge for Shaklee Distributors will be to learn how to talk about this product in a fresh, new way.

Saturday evening

This afternoon there was a tremendous opportunity for free time, but I was able to attend a fascinating invitation-only meeting with Roger Barnett regarding the generational nature of this business.

In the evening, following the charity benefit banquet for New Orleans, was the final celebration bash.

Of personal significance we were awarded tonight in the Star Achiever multiple qualification category. We received an exquisite, custom crystal plate from Tiffany and Co. Thanks to our entire downline for making this happen!

It was also a time of fun! There was the second annual Shaklee Idol, a Shaklee talent show that is very entertaining. And to cap off the evening was a dance, New Orleans style!

This afteroon I was in the workshop devoted to the use of technology in our business. There was a good presentation on how to build your business online. Shaklee also announced new Internet rules for distributors that fit better with the new online world. We also learned about some of the innovations Shaklee is now introducing. For example, iTrack is now available for Business Leaders (and soon for all distributors). iTrack is an online customer relationship management tool that also has an email campaign system built-in to it. This is an essential tool for any serious business builder.

This morning’s workshop on Vivix certainly provided the information we were looking for.

What can I say? My biggest hesitation is that my words cannot adequately describe what is going on here. Let’s face it: There are tons of “hype” products out there promising the world but are nothing more than snake oil. It would be easy to think that this new product is like that.

But it isn’t.

Vivix is the most complex research and development project ever undertaken by Shaklee. The science is very real – there are over 2000 scientific publications related to these ingredients. Renowned institutions like the Harvard Medical School are studying this and the media has been talking about this research. Shaklee is the first company, however, to take all this research and turn it into a product. In doing so Shaklee has patented the process (so no one else can copy it!) and has exclusive rights to the ingredient supply!

In a nutshell, Vivix is the first commercially available product that truly addresses the four major issues related to cellular aging. People want to live longer and look younger. Once you see all the facts you will want use this product and share it with people you know.

This is more than just another product. It changes the health and wellness industry and puts us even further ahead of any other company out there.
