Anaheim – Friday

Because of Thursday being such a full day at the Global Conference Shaklee intends for Friday to be much less structured. This allows considerable free time (including an opportunity for us to visit Disney’s California Adventure). The only major activity is the morning session which provides even more excitement to experience.

Thursday’s focus was the Dream Plan, the major re-working of our compensation program. That remains the hot topic among convention attendees, but today’s news kept the buzz at a heightened level. Shaklee focused on science and new products, and there was plenty of good news.

First, of all news was shared on Shaklee’s continued investment in clinical studies, keeping us way ahead of everyone else in the industry. Several studies were conducted this past year. One helped bring greater insight to the still fuzzy understanding that scientists have about the impact of supplementation on vitamin D levels in the body. Another study demonstrated that people who take Vitalizer tend to have a superior cholesterol levels. This past year another study on Vivix was conducted, this time conclusively showing that it reduces inflammation increases cellular energy. And, finally, a new clinical study shows that the combination of Cinch, Vitalizer, and exercise increase bone density. These studies are more than just scientific exploits, but truly advance nutritional science and extend Shaklee’s already high credibility.

Shaklee does not just address health sciences at an technical level. The goal is to translate all of this to real products that we can use and benefit our lives. Three new products were introduced today (in addition to Get Clean Water that was introduced just prior to the convention).

Cholesterol Reducing Complex – This is a new product that replaces our current cholesterol regulation product. What is significant about this product is that it is based on extremely good science, so much so, that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the claim that this product can reduce cholesterol! It is extremely rare for a natural supplement to make such a claim legally. Cholesterol Reducing Complex contains plant sterols and stanols that compete with cholesterol to reduce the absorption of cholesterol into the blood stream. This is the first such supplement to contain sufficient quantity of such sterols and stanols that match the recommendations of the National institute of Health. With the large number of people with high cholesterol, and the concerns over the safety of current medication options, this is a very timely product.

Vita-D3. Vitamin D is the hottest topic in nutrition today, and Shaklee continues to respond to the latest insights. This new product provides additional vitamin D (in its best form) in a 1000IU dosage. Of course, Vitalizer and Vivix have had their levels of vitamin D boosted, as will our calcium supplements.

Fiber Advantage bar. Despite the greater availability of high fiber foods on the market, one-half of North Americans still don’t get enough dietary fiber daily. Over the years Shaklee has provided a number of different fiber supplements, but because of the quantity of fiber that is required, the typical supplement formats don’t lend themselves well. To overcome this Shaklee has developed a delicious new apple-cinnamon bar that provides an incredible 8g of dietary fiber that cover the wide spectrum of the types of fiber that our body needs. These bars taste great, are 100% natural, and are low glycemic.

These are great products that we can easily share!
